AP Chemistry (Section 1)

AP Chemistry is designed to both challenge and motivate students as their study of the subject goes beyond the Regents course. In this class, students will develop a deeper understanding of chemical bonding, stoichiometry, kinetics, phases of matter, thermochemistry, REDOX, and chemical equilibrium, among others. By developing a deeper understanding of the subject, the interconnectivity of topics emerge as a highlight for students to investigate chemical systems and reactions.

The chemcial principles learned in AP Chemistry will not only prepare you for the AP Exam, but also change your perspective on some ordinary activities, such as lighting a match or how batteries generate electricity. The lab component of the course is designed to stimulate students to collaborate in developing procedures, analyzing data, and applying that to real world problems.
