ERHS Calendar - Week of 6/3/19

Dear ERHS Community,

Welcome to June and the final month of the school year. It has been great to visit classes over the past week to witness culminating projects, and last week’s STEM Showcase after school demonstrated the creativity and talent of our students. A shout out to the Music Department as some of our most dedicated musicians took part in a Senior Recital. The recognition of the work that takes place in our school will continue through the end of the year and I look forward to seeing more from our students and faculty as the school year comes to a conclusion.

Please note the various realities of this week as there will only be two traditional school days on Wednesday and Friday..

Monday - Global Regents Testing Day - Only 10th graders will be in attendance to take the exam in the morning. Please plan to arrive by 8am and remember to bring pens and pencils with cell phones turned off and placed in lockers. Wishing success to all our test-takers.

Tuesday - Eid-al-Fitr - School is closed in recognition of the end of Ramadan. Wishing joy and peace to all in the ERHS community that observe Eid-al-Fitr.

Thursday - Chancellor’s Conference Day - No Students in Attendance. ERHS Orientation for the Class of 2023 at noon. Thank you to all volunteers in the ERHS community that are taking part in the orientation. The orientation is scheduled for 12:00-3:30pm, followed by a Snack Social in the Cafeteria at 3:30pm. Special new families meeting with the principal at 3pm in the auditorium. Welcome to our new students and families!

Friday - Senior Class Breakfast & Yearbook distribution for the Class of 2019 - 8:00-9:30am in the Cafeteria. We look forward to celebrating with the class at this special event. All available faculty and staff are welcome to join!

A reminder that the school community has an opportunity to see a free performance of Antigone in Ferguson on Saturday, June 8th at 2pm at St. Ann & The Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn. Please complete the form to RSVP your free tickets. We need to share with the theater the anticipated number of attendees, so please register by Monday at noon, if interested.

Good luck to all the candidates running for Student Government positions at ERHS for the 2019-20 school year. If anyone is interested in serving on next year’s School Leadership Team, please send a letter of interest to Ms. Maryellen Teaman at mteaman@erhsnyc.net by Wednesday, June 5 at 3pm. We will share the next steps in the process shortly after collecting the letters from interested students.

Congrats to track team members Rachel A. for her 1st place sophomore racewalk victory and Stephanie M. who finished in 3rd place in the 400m at the PSAL Freshman Sophomore Championships at Dewitt Clinton on Sunday, 6/2.

Sincerely,

Mr. Saliani

Principal
