Congratulations! It is our pleasure to welcome you to Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
We are tremendously impressed by the academic success you have already achieved. The hard work and academic ability you demonstrated exemplifies the qualities of an Eleanor Roosevelt student. This year we reviewed almost 6,000 applicants who were interested in attending ERHS. The school community is truly honored by the level of interest.
First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built.” At ERHS, we strive to provide academic rigor that is balanced with personal growth. Our school is a small, tight-knit community of students, faculty, staff and families who are all interested in achieving the same goal: a top-notch, well-rounded educational experience with deep exploration of the arts, English, foreign language, math, physical education, science, and social studies. We know that the commitment to academics, citizenship and service, and technology will provide a strong foundation for your future.
As an incoming freshman, you will also take part in our advisory program. One of the highlights of the experience is an overnight trip to Ramapo Anchorage Camp. Here in the beautiful setting of Rhinebeck, NY, the entire freshman class builds camaraderie through team building activities. There is also a brief stop at the FDR Presidential Library and Museum for an introduction to the Roosevelt family. The archives will offer a glimpse into some of Mrs. Roosevelt’s achievements and her commitment to citizenship.
The curriculum at ERHS is rigorous, and you will be expected to advocate for your education and always challenge yourself to do better.
