Roosevelt Racers (F1 in Schools)
F1 in Schools STEM Challenge is an intensive STEM competition. It requires a wide spectrum of skills in STEM such as
  • motion & force analysis,
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD),
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD),
  • structure analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA),
  • Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM),
  • Computer Numeric Control (CNC),
  • assembling, integration & finishing,
  • wind/smoke tunnel testing, and
  • track testing, data collection & analysis.
However, a significant portion of the competition also involves graphic design such as
  • team identity/logo design,
  • web page design,
  • animation,
  • video creation/editing,
  • trade show booth design,
  • portfolio design, and
  • flyer/brochure/business card design.

Last but not the least, F1 in Schools competition has a very strong business component. The team is basically like a start-up company, designing and manufacturing their own product, a race car, and using it as an advertisement platform to develop sponsorship and partnership with companies. So, we also need people who have business skills in

  • business writing,
  • bookkeeping,
  • social media,
  • developing marketing strategies,
  • communication,
  • hosting fund raising events, and
  • developing sponsorship.
