Peter D'Amico was born in Brooklyn and raised in Staten Island. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2004 and his Masters of Science in Teaching in 2005 from Fordham University. Since 2005 Peter has been teaching Chemistry (Regents, Organic, and AP) at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. During the summers of 2006 & 2007 Peter was a fellow in Columbia University's Summer Science Teacher Program. He was responsible for synthesizing dyes and DNA fragments for the overall goal of genetic detection.
Peter was chosen as a Math For America Master Teacher in 2014and is currently in his second fellowship. He was also accepted as a Fund for Teachers Fellow in 2016, as he travelled to Brussels, Amsterdam, and Barcelona to study the links between chemistry and various types of art.
